A Rhino Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park lies about 160km south of Kathmandu. The park offers one of the finest wildlife experiences in Asia. Wild animals such as endangered one horned rhino, royal bengal tiger, crocodile, and 50 other species of mammals and over 450 species of birds are found in the park. TamangPortraits Tamang Portraits from Langtang
Portraits of Tamang men, women and children in their beautiful attire from different villages in Langtang National Park, about 160KM north of Kathmandu. These traditional farmers and woodcrafters live in villages with altitudes ranging from 2000m to 4000m. Their villages fall on the popular Langtang trekking trail. These peaceful and fun loving people have a rich cultural life full of song, dance and ritual. These images are only for viewing purposes. Shamans Tamang Shamans of Langtang
Although Tamang people from Langtang are Buddhist but their shamans bombo as they are known locally, worship Mahadev (Lord Shiva) as their guru. Shamanism is very strong among the Tamang people of Langtang. Whether it is faith healing or protecting the house and family members from evil spirits Shamans come first and then the Lamas.
